Soak up traditional Japanese fashion with a hanten jacket: the iconic Japanese coat
Worn for hundreds of years by the Japanese, the hanten coat was worn over a traditional kimono or a more casual yukata. Unlike some Japanese outfits, the hanten is not reserved for a wealthy social category.
It is sewn with a quilted cotton lining. It's ideal for keeping you warm, yet breathable and comfortable to wear. The hanten jacket features a wide strip of black fabric sewn into the V-neck for a sophisticated look. This grey Japanese coat has a nami motif. These are waves symbolising the sea gods. These prints were also found on the banners and armour of Sengoku-era fighters.
